Loanwords often take on various pronunciations, usually corresponding to

  • the original orthography pronounced as written in Spanish
  • an emulation of the original pronunciation

(or something in-between). Other examples include iceberg.

Note the RAE dislikes the use of non-Spanish orthographies (unless italicised), and proposes the alternative orthographies piyama and violonchelo for the "Latin American" pronunciations.
