What are the accentuation rules in Spanish? @Laura Estaba pensando en eso antes, porque pensaba a "palabra" que también es llana y no lleva acento. :) ¡Voy a agregarlo! |

What are the accentuation rules in Spanish? Esdrújulas = third syllable. Sobreesdrújulas = fourth syllable. |

Why don't Spanish words start with “sp”? @Joze Also other languages start with "sp", Spanish is the only one that, apparently for now at least, that doesn't have any word starting with "sp". |

Why is “Enrique” pronunced as though it has a double “r”? You mentioned "rat", do you mean the english letter? Speaking about "R", maybe English is not the best example... :D |

Idiomatic translation of “Dame tu luz”? @jrdioko lol it was just an attempt to be as "wide" as possible... :D |

Why is “Enrique” pronunced as though it has a double “r”? +1 Nice question. Simple but useful... In my Spanish studies I never noticed this rule. :) |

Why is “Enrique” pronunced as though it has a double “r”? Do you mind adding a quick explanation here too? This is useful in case the original page is modified or even deleted, otherwise your answer becomes useless... :) +1 by the way, since you answer the question. |

Internet Chat laughter in Spanish @Brian That emoticon is used everywhere actually; by the way, for those who don't know, it's basically this face. |

Idiomatic translation of “Dame tu luz”? The translation is that one, and the meaning is the same. The translation I provided is not meant as "give me your lamp", but rather something more like "give me your love" (just an example). When you say something romantic "you are shining to me", you're not actually saying the other person is glowing, but it's a way of saying that the other person for you is glowing, since you love that person. It's not just intended in a romantic sense, as in the song "Give me your light". I'm not sure I was very clear on this one, but I hope it helps. |

Greetings for presents and cards @DiegoMijelshon There's no need to be harsh. But can you explain why is that disrespectful? I didn't mean to disrespect anything or anyone, of course, and I apologize if I unintentionally did, but maybe you're taking this too much personally. |
