I've got it. Why is "Las termitas se comen madera" not correct and "Las termitas se comen la mesa" is correct?

I dont understand this "Si quitamos el objeto directo, el pronominal se convierte en reflexivo, lo que resulta en un disparate porque necesariamente falta algo". Could you please explain more?

I am not quite understand your discussions. Acutually this example is taken from "Hansel and Gretel". Does it mean that "comerse"is to emphasize the behaviour of eating wall due to hungry? So "se" here is the function of dative interest?

comment Los valores de SE
@Silke: Couldn't we say it this way. If the chairs are mentioned earlier, and now when we say "se colocaron todas end fila" , we can see it as the chairs are lined up by someone which is passive voice. No?

@Silke : for " se colocaron todas end fila", if the implied subject are , for example, sillas, then we can say "the sillas are lined up". This is a passive voice, no?

Then is it more correct to say like "todas han sucumbido a los encantos del espía más famoso con licencia para matar del cine"?

Wouldn´t it be more natural to say like "todas han sucumbido a los encantos del espía más famoso del cine con licencia para matar"??

Thanks, I've edited my question. To be frankly, I don't understand the meaning of "with licence to kill in the movie industry".

comment Reflexivo: Se dativo
I dont' agree with you. A child can ask her mother to comb her hair (an order) OR A child can do it herself even she is so small (a emphasize).

comment Uses of “se”: “se rompió” o “rompió”
Please advise what "se" refers to here. "le" is hermano and "se" is the vasos. Correct?
