Dec 21	comment	What's the origin of the Panamanian word “biñuelo”? Is it merely a corruption of “buñuelo”? @hippietrail I searched Google Panamá and I always got back recipes for fritters. I also found a Peruvian blog with pictures of `Biñuelos Arequipeños con miel` (looked yummy). Colombians say that someone is a `buñuelo` when that person is really bad at performing some task. `Soy un buñuelo para el fútbol` (I am a really lousy soccer player).

RAE has the following definition for `nicho`: `Concavidad formada para colocar algo; como las construcciones de los cementerios para colocar los cadáveres.` If I am presented with the above definition from RAE, I would have said that that's the definition for `fosa`.

Dec 20	comment	How important are accents in written Spanish? I disagree. I think they are thaaaaaaaaat important. Reading a piece of text with no proper accents is a pain. You have to read the lines 2, sometimes 3 times, to make sense of what the person is trying to communicate.

Dec 8	comment	Backchannels (listener responses) in Spanish @jrdioko: It depends on the context of the conversation. `¡No jodás!` in the context of you listening to someone else narrating some facts unrelated to you, is more like saying `get out of here!` (indicating surprise). On a different context in may very well indicate more like `don't fuck with me!`. And yes, the right word would be `fuck` instead of `mess`. The verb `joder` is something you shouldn't use lightly :)
