Why is the “X” in México and Texas pronunced as the letter “J”? @Richard If a person from Spain is called Xavier, chances are 99% that his name is not spanish but catalan and therefore the correct pronunciation is indeed "SHavier". |

Spanish abbreviation for the United States of America Roman is right on the money. His claim is also trivial to verify: Just hit the home page of any mayor mexican news outlet and read the headlines. They all spell the US as EU. Outside Mexico the common spelling is EE.UU. PS: My favorite spelling is gringolandia. ;-) |
