Could you please advise if the following sentence is correctly written?

La señal advierte al público que las fuertes lluvias probablemente trajeron consigo seria inundación de carretera y congestión tráfico.

In my opinion, a correct version would be:

La señal advierte al público que las fuertes lluvias probablemente trajeron consigo una seria inundación de carretera y congestión de tráfico.

Thank you! Why should we use "una" inundacion? There may be many at the same time. Should we say "inundaciones"? –  Cadenza Jun 7 '13 at 12:06
    
"Una" inundación is used for emphasizing the expression, I would say that without "una" is not common. Yes, it is also possible to say "... trajeron consigo inundaciones de carretera y ..." –  L30nardoSV Jun 7 '13 at 17:21
