Spanish Language & Usage Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for students, teachers, and linguists wanting to discuss the finer points of the Spanish language. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am currently learning Spanish through Mango Languages for Libraries. When it is complete, it looks like I will be somewhat conversational and will understand the basics of conjugation for common verbs.

My question is: where do I go from here? I would like to learn much more about Spanish beyond this and was wondering if there was a recommended path I could take. Sorry if this post is somewhat misplaced, but I figured I could get a good answer here. Thanks.

Welcome to Spanish.SE! This is a good question, but unfortunately it's not a good fit for this site, as there is not a "correct" answer. It's more a good discussion question. – Flimzy Jan 28 '12 at 16:48

To provide a bit of an answer, though, there are many things you can do, depending on where you live: Take a college or community class, to give you some face time with other Spanish speakers. Find community events with native speakers (attend Latin night clubs, dance classes, Spanish-language church, etc). Visit a Spanish-speaking country. Make Spanish-speaking pen-pals online via craigslist or your favorite social networking site. And last, but not least, become a regular participant on this site :) – Flimzy Jan 28 '12 at 16:51
